3.45pm - Booked.. much?

Well, after a talk with the women & children's area of the hospital, I found out that I need to decide sooner than later about the type of labour that I want. Whether to go 'normal' hospital birth, with drugs and stuff... or to go a la naturale in the Birthing Centre, where the only 'drug' available to me is gas.

After thinking about it, and despite my abhorrent dislike of pain, I would really prefer a more natural, active labour. One of my girlfriends had such a good experience with her birth going more natural, and it inspired me to follow the same path.

So, I've booked DH, my mother and I into an information session about the Birthing Centre, and have tentitavely booked the birth in to.

So March will be full of appointments, being ultrasounds, Obs, hospitals...

WOO!

6:40am - No DVT and more ultrasounds

Well, my tests came up clear yesterday for DVT. YAY! So I have to just make sure that I keep up my water, celery and movement so that it doesn't happen.

But today, in just under 6 hours, DH & I will be seeing our little Jacobeanie for the first time! We're very excited.

We'll also find out how old JB is. Despite my ticker up there, we're not entirely sure that that's correct.

Well, I'll report after ;)

After - We have results!

Jacobeanie is flying solo and is around 5 1/2 weeks. so it looks like my ticker IS right.

We'll have another scan at about 8 or 9 weeks to get better measurements, plus to check that the pregnancy is developing right.

7:51pm - Hmmm.

I may have blood clots in my lower legs. I have to have an ultrasound on them tomorrow. I'm a little nervous about it. I hope it goes okay...

I really don't want any complications with this pregnancy... at least no more than absolutely necessary.

Fingers crossed..

12.05pm - Dry Crackers and Ginger Beer

This is the basis of my current diet. Well, dry anything.. or vegemite sandwiches. But definitely Ginger Beer... and lots of it.

Lemonade is too sweet.. ick.. but Ginger Beer... oooh.. lovely ginger beer...

Oh.. that and Banana Smoothies!!! Am LOVING Banana smoothies right now... in fact.. ultimate foodage right now is Vegemite on turkish bread and a banana smoothie :D

Sounds like a great lunch idea, actually...

7.41am - Surreal City, Population Me....
I'm still finding this all a little surreal. I'm feeling the morning sickness, the tiredness, the slight bloaty feeling (which is pretty much the same as pre AF). I SEE the positive tests... but I keep thinking...
"What if I just want to see it, what if that second line isn't really there?"
Is that line there? Or am I completely imagining this pregnancy?

I'll feel better after the blood test, I'm sure. That whole medical person telling me I'm definitely pregnant thing will alleviate the surrealness.....

.... I hope..

1.10pm - Just in case ...
I tested again using a different brand, and got an immediate positive...

So it's not my imagination..

Yay!

Lunch, however, was a bit of a mistake.. :S I'll be paying for that one all afternoon!

7.45am - Let the incubating begin!
My body has turned UP the heat! Between just under my bust and my knees, I am a human hot water bottle 24/7! It became noticable yesterday when I put my hand on my back and it was HOT.

So now I guess that getting that 'right temperature' to get to sleep is going to be difficult.

I don't mind it all, really. I'm just thrilled to be pregnant :D

11.14am - Get thee behind me food!
This whole choosing food thing is getting a bit hard. It's getting close to lunch time and I just can't decide what I want. A Vegemite sandwich is lookin' good around now. I know I can keep that down!

2.00pm - ALL HAIL THE MOTION SICKNESS BANDS!!!
I bought myself some of these at lunchtime. I've put them on, and almost immediately, my MS has started to lessen. Not gone.. but it's less.. WOO!

Up or down?
Thank the gods for Buderim Ginger Bears!

I haven't lost my appetite yet, but after I eat, I don't want it anymore. Or at least, my body doesn't want it anymore. So I take a swig of water and munch on a ginger bear.. phew, "normality" restored.

Walking also seems to help, which is nice.

Doctor Appointment Made
Right. Blood test is booked for next week. The obs will be booked after the results. Fingers crossed the one I want is available.

I'm suffering quite nasty morning sickness. Not mere nausea, but on the verge and occasional actual vomiting. I'm hoping I can keep it somewhat under control. I do not like throwing up.

Other than that, the tiredness is starting, it's not too bad, but I'm sure it will get worse. That's okay though. I don't mind resting :D

Guess what?

I found out this morning that my husband & I were going to have a baby!

We are approx 4w1d, and EDD is 22nd October, 2006.

We are excited and a little surprised, as we didn't think that it would happen this quickly.
