35w

Well, we've had another scan, and seen the obs again...

Rohan is officially "Macrosomic", which basically means the GD has made him a very large baby. And at 9 pound (4.1kgs), he is. I also have a condition called "polyhydramnios", which is excessive amniotic fluid. This in itself comes with it's own complications, including risk of early breaking of waters, prolapse cord and respiratory issues for Rohan.

So now I'm officially a 'high risk' pregnancy/delivery... so ...

We'll be 'delivering' Rohan by Ceasarian section some time between the 12th and 19th of October. We haven't firmed up a date yet, because they can't book me in until 1-2w before they're going to do it. So that'll be booked in visit after next (which is the 5th Oct)..

So my bag is 3/4 packed now, just need my pj's made and another pair of pants for daytime... and maybe a new pair of shoes.. ;)

Now, to get my own head around having major abdominal surgery.....

  1. Having had three c-sections of my own I understand the apprehension. Just remember to use your arms when you sit up, don't be afraid to take the pain medication, ask for help when you need it, rest rest and rest when you can!!!!!!!

Take care of yourself and enjoy him.

    Hey Sweetie,

I can't get it to pop up over here but www.ican-online.org has great info on how to handle the after-effects of the surgery. My first daughter was born by csection and I have recieved a lot of support from ICAN since. I'm glad you have a warning to get used to it. Don't be afraid to ask for help, none of us are superwoman. (I know how you are.) :) Watch for thrush in the first week. :) Remember all your feelings are valid. It's ok to feel cheated or whatever else you may feel. You are a good mom. And if you ever need to talk about your feelings you know I'm here for you.

We are praying for a safe delivery!
